Watch this Battery Waste Reduction video to learn how to properly and safely dispose of batteries  - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soYWpDQYtNE&t=5s

Here is an easy to follow way to dispose of all types of batteries:

  • Regular alkaline batteries can be placed in your yellow bag and disposed of with your standard trash.
  • Button Cell Batteries (which may contain mercury) can be brought to the DPW office, Recycling Center, Senior Center or Town Hall to place in a bucket so we can dispose of them properly.
  • Rechargable, lithium, nickel, and auto batteries can be disposed of at the Recycling Center as long as they are clean and not leaking. Must be inspected by attendant.
