Mission Statement
Boards of Health are made up of people from every walk of life who care about the well being of their community. They are elected or appointed to a term of office and are given the legal authority to set policies and make regulations to protect the public and environmental health.
Under Massachusetts General Laws, state and local regulations and community direction, Boards of Health are held responsible for disease prevention and control, and health and environmental protection and promoting a healthy community. Boards of Health serve as the local arm of both the Mass. Department of Public Health and the Mass. Department of Environmental Protection. To fulfill their duties, they develop, implement and enforce health policies, oversee inspections to maintain minimum standards for sanitation in housing and food service, and assure that the basic health needs of their community are being met.
If you would like to speak meet with the Health Director, please call in advance to set up an appointment. If you need Board of Health documents or files please call ahead or e-mail in advance to ensure staff will be available to obtain them for you. We will also be happy to scan and e-mail to you any documents or files we have available for you.
Our shared public health nurse is located at the Medway Council on Aging building (76 Oakland Street). General office hours in Medway for our shred public health nurse are Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30am- 4:30pm. Our shared public health nurse also serves the town of Millis. You may call the Medway Board of Health office to be connected to our shared public health nurse on days other than Mondays and Thursdays.

Medway’s Health Department, in partnership with Milford Central Pharmacy, will host two flu clinics this fall.

Pre-registration is recommended (but not required). Please bring pharmacy/ prescription insurance card and Medicare Part B, if applicable. Most insurance companies are accepted.”
