With the upcoming retirement of Fire Chief Jeffrey Lynch, we are most happy to announce that Chief Lynch’s successor comes from within the ranks of the Medway Fire Department. Today, Deputy Chief Michael Fasolino, a lifelong Medway resident, was named by Town Manager Michael Boynton as Fire Chief, effective September 9th. Deputy Chief Fasolino has been a member of the Medway Fire Department since he was appointed a Call Firefighter in August of 1989. He was promoted to Captain in 2000 and joined the full-time ranks in 2013. Michael was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2016 and Deputy Chief in 2018. Deputy Chief Fasolino completed the Massachusetts Chief Fire Officer program in 2023 and, since 2022, has served as Medway’s Emergency Management Director. He is currently completing his Masters Degree in Public Administration. Deputy Chief Fasolino will begin the transition period alongside Chief Lynch before the September change of command. Congratulations, Chief Fasolino, on your appointment.
