DPW announces roadwork to begin immediately on Coffee Street. Residents should be aware that the entire construction project should take approximately 2 months to complete. Manhole covers and drains along the street are currently being lowered. This work is in preparation for the full reclaiming of the road, which will take place around May 10. Once the road is reclaimed, it will be completely smooth. Unfortunately, this will not last for long. In preparation for asphalt, the manhole covers and drains will have to be raised 4 inches above the ground. Another coat of asphalt will be put down at the beginning of June. Please reach out to DPW at 508-533-3275 with questions.
A great explanation of the road work, what is happening, and why can be found here by Michael Boynton (in a live FB video).
