Historical Society unveils newly restored historical photos at Select Board Meeting

At last night’s Select Board meeting the Medway Historical Societyy and members of the Historical commission unveiled two professionally restored historical portraits. (See comments for pictures).

One portrait features a rare late-1860s original photo of Milford Sanford, and the other portrait features Jacob Ide. Both pieces were professionally restored by former Medway resident Pauline Delin at a total cost of $765. Following the unveiling, the portrait of Milford Sanford will remain in Sanford Hall at Town Hall and the portrait of Jacob Ide will return to its permanent home in the Parlour of the Jacob Ide House at the Medway Historical Society Museum on Main Street.

Special thanks to historical society members Sheila Dubrawski, Annemarie Fontecchio, Stephen Malloy, and Jeanne Johnson for their leadership and dedication to preserving Medway’s heritage.

The Medway Historical Society invites the community to an Open House on Saturday, October 3, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Join us for this special event to tour the newly renovated Medway Historical Society Museum located at 223 Main Street.
