Medway will begin hydrant flushing in Zone 1-3 starting September 29 at 9:30 p.m. thru the evening hours until about 5:00 a.m. and will continue through the end of the week to be followed by Zone 1-4
During flushing and sometimes after flushing takes place, you may find an increased discoloration of water. By flushing at night, we hope to limit the possibility of our residents experiencing discolored water. Please avoid water usage in the overnight hours when flushing is occurring in your neighborhood. In addition, the Water Department would like to make residents aware that it is not uncommon to experience low water pressure while flushing is taking place in your area.
After flushing:
If water is clear, then proceed to utilize.
If water is discolored, run cold water for a few minutes until clear using a non-strained fixture such as a tub or outside spigot. If still discolored: Wait and run again until clear. Slight discoloration may remain for a few hours.
