Medway Fire Department & Millis Fire Department rescue impaled herring gull on lighting rod

This morning, the Medway Fire Department and the Millis Fire Department were called to St. Joseph’s Church on Village Street to rescue a herring gull that was impaled on one of the church’s lighting rods. Thank you to Lt. Scotland of the Millis Fire Department for climbing to the gull’s rescue. Animal Control Officer, Erin Mallette is happy to report that after a visit to a local veterinarian, the gull will be fine and is on the mend.
