MEDWAY POLICE ARREST ONE, SEEK CHARGES AGAINST A SECOND FOLLOWING A LARGE FIGHT INVOLVING KNIVES

The Medway Police Department arrested one individual and is seeking charges against a second following a fight involving knives in the parking lot of the Hathon apartment complex at 39 Main Street.

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, at approximately 11:59 PM, Medway Police received multiple 911 calls reporting that approximately 10 people were fighting in the parking lot at 39 Main Street and that knives were involved. The Millis Police Department was contacted for mutual aid assistance.

Responding officers located several people in the parking lot. One person had suffered a laceration to the hand. A Millis police officer provided emergency medical care until the Medway Fire Department arrived and took over care. No one sustained serious injuries, and no one was transported to the hospital from the scene.

Following an investigation, officers arrested JONATHAN DUPICHE, age 18, of Franklin, Massachusetts. Dupiche was charged with the following:

  • Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon
  • Assault and Battery

Information gathered at the scene indicated that Dupiche stabbed one person in the hand with a knife and punched another person in the head during the altercation.

Additional information indicated that a second individual attempted to punch one of the parties involved. Medway Police are seeking an assault charge against that individual. Their name will not be released because they have not yet been arraigned.

Seven knives were recovered from various locations in the parking lot and collected as evidence.

This release was delayed while officers worked to obtain surveillance video related to the incident.

Medway Police would like to thank the Millis Police Department and Medway Fire Department for their assistance.
