The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) is exploring the future of solar energy, and they need your input to help determine the best locations for future solar projects. There are approximately 3,000-4,000 megawatts of solar in Massachusetts today, and we estimate that the state may need an additional 25,000 to 35,000 megawatts to meet Massachusetts’ 2050 Decarbonization Roadmap targets. This translates to roughly 32,000 to 44,000 city blocks or 160,000 to 221,000 acres (for scale, MA has 5 million acres of land). Use this link to take the DOER survey.
