Notice 07-07-2025 :

Town of Medway's Highway Superintendent, Jack Tucker

As we continue to celebrate our Public Works Department and those who make our Town tick, we highlight Jack Tucker, Medway’s Highway Superintendent.  Without Jack and his team, the Town simply wouldn’t run!

Mr. Tucker has obtained a wealth of experience and knowledge over many years of service. He joined the Town of Medway as Highway Superintendent in 2016, and prior to working in Medway, he worked for the City of Leominster's Public Works Department as a General Foreman and Inspector of Water, Sewer, and Streets. Previous to these roles, he owned and operated his own excavating company in the City of Leominster for over 25 years.

In his role as Highway Superintendent, during the spring, summer, and fall months, it is his responsibility to plan and oversee all municipal highway operations. Day-to-day operations include drainage maintenance, road repair (from winter damage), roadside mowing/trimming, and working closely with paving and sidewalk contractors. Roadside litter cleanup also falls under Mr. Tucker’s purview.

In addition, a huge part of Jack’s role as Highway Superintendent includes the oversight of storm management and emergency services during the winter months. Day-to-day operations in the winter include snow plowing, sanding, and managing, and assigning snow contractors to routes, as well as snow removal throughout the Town for the line-of-sight issues and drainage maintenance. This role is highly important in keeping the residents of Medway and our surrounding community members safe.

Born and raised in Leominster, MA, Jack has been married to his lovely wife, Colleen for 40 years. They have two daughters, Jo-Ellen and Lindsey. In his spare time, he loves to spend time traveling with his wife. He is well known and respected for his friendly personality and work ethic.
