We are saddened by the loss of our partner and friend, Mike Heavey

Today our hearts are saddened as the Town of Medway mourns the sudden passing of our long-time team member, partner and friend Michael “Mike” Heavey. Mike, the current chair of our Board of Health, a Special Police Officer, and Emergency Medical Technician, passed away unexpectedly yesterday after being stricken ill at home. A life-long resident of Medway, Mike dedicated himself to the betterment of our Community for parts of the last six decades. He served in many capacities, including as a member of the Fire Department in addition to his most recent positions. A Master Plumber by trade, Mike had recently retired and sold the longtime family business, Heavey Plumbing & Heating in Walpole with plans to dedicate even greater time to his family and the Town.

He loved this Town, and went above and beyond to help those who call Medway home. A deeply caring person, Mike saw his role as one to help those in need, and he cherished every minute of his service. We offer our deepest condolences to his Wife, Martha, and to his entire family on their most sorrowful loss. We ask all residents to join with us in saluting Mike’s dedicated service to our Community, and forever remember this good and decent man who made our lives a bit better by doing what he loved so much. May he rest in eternal peace.
