WOMAN ARRESTED AT OAKLAND STREET PARK AFTER BEING FOUND PARTIALLY NAKED IN THE PARK BATHROOM
Medway Officers arrested Julie Ann Pereira, age 54, at Oakland Street Park today after responding to a call that reported she was naked in the public bathroom where a youth camp was underway. The caller reported that she was refusing to allow the children to use the bathroom and refusing to enter a stall. She was arrested and charged with Open and Gross Lewdness, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.
When officers arrived, they saw that the youth camp was underway with about 100 children in attendance. Officers interviewed the camp director, who reported that there was an older woman in the bathroom who was naked, not allowing the children to use the bathroom, and refusing to either clothe herself or use the privacy of a stall.
Officers interviewed a staff member who reported that she had entered the bathroom, saw a child inside with Pereira, who had her pants down and was topless with her breasts exposed. Pereira had soap on her arms and apparently had been washing herself in the sink.
Officers noted that the bathroom was a short distance from where many people, including children, were using the park and that Pereira was exposed to public view whenever someone opened the bathroom door.
Officers made contact with Pereira and advised her that she was under arrest. She resisted being put into custody, forcing the officers to forcibly remove her from the bathroom and lift her into the police cruiser. Periera will be arraigned in Wrentham District Court on Friday, July 10, 20206.
