⚠️ Emergency Alert 11-21-2024: NO BURNING MANDATE per Medway Fire Department. Trash & Recycling Delay on 11/28 & 11/29 due to Thanksgiving Holiday.

I cannot pay all of my real estate tax bill. What do I do?

Senior Citizens should contact the Assessor's Office to apply for an exemption and/or deferment of taxes prior to March 31.  If you are not a senior or you do not qualify for deferment, you should pay as much of the tax bill when it is due as you are able and then pay as much as you are able on a monthly basis thereafter. REMEMBER THAT INTEREST ACCRUES AT 14% PER ANNUM ON REAL ESTATE TAXES.  At the end of the fiscal year, you may request a forbearance payment plan by sending a letter to the Collector's Office.  Your letter should indicate your property address and the amount you can pay on a monthly basis.  The T/C office will respond to your request.

If you are experiencing an unusual hardship situation and cannot pay your taxes at all, you should contact the Assessor's office to apply for a hardship deferment of taxes prior to March 31.
