The Charles River Meadowlands Initiative is presenting a series of community forums in Bellingham, Franklin and Medway in April. Interested parties in those communities are invited to learn about the Charles River Meadowlands Initiative, an effort among citizens of Bellingham, Franklin and Medway and local officials to work together with Federal and State officials, to improve access to and management of this beautiful, 500 acre natural resource area through which the Charles River runs. All members of the public are welcome.

The first 30 minutes of each meeting will be an opportunity for the public to look at mapping developed by BETA Group, a consultant hired through a special state funding appropriation to study the conservation and open space potential of hundreds of acres of federal land – and adjacent protected lands – across Bellingham, Franklin, and Medway. BETA and the Meadowlands Initiative will make a formal presentation at 7 pm. The balance of each evening will be for questions and answers and informal discussions with attendees. The information gathered will be included in a final report for the three towns later this year.
For those unable to attend, information and an online survey are planned to be available on the Meadowlands website in early May at www.charlesrivermeadowlands.org/
