Medway Library Director Wanted

The Town of Medway is looking for a dedicated and community-focused Library Director to lead our welcoming public library. Situated in a growing MetroWest town, the Library Director will play an important role in supporting inclusive services, fostering innovative programming, and encouraging team collaboration.

We’re seeking a leader who brings new ideas, a collaborative approach, and a vision for how a library can best serve a diverse community. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic planner and a people-oriented leader—someone who can guide a dedicated team while ensuring the library remains an important and inclusive resource
for all residents.

The Library Director for the Medway Public Library is responsible for professional, administrative, and supervisory work in directing the programs and operations of the public library; all other related work as required. The director will work under the general direction of the Trustees in collaboration with the Town Manager.

The Library Director will oversee daily operations, while also looking for ways to improve library services, collections, and community engagement to meet the needs of our evolving population. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced library professional to help shape the future of a cherished local institution.

A master’s degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited institution is required, as well as a minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in library management or leadership, preferably in a public library setting.
