With recent questions about how cities/towns are spending state opioid abatement funds, we wanted to share with our community what services are available:
Community Impact:
• Coordinate with the Medway Police Department to service individuals who have come in contact with the Department and have been affected by the disease of addiction.
• Provide proactive outreach to residents struggling with addiction, which involves Community Impact therapists and recovery coaches reaching out to these individuals with a Medway Police Detective/ Officer and/or co-response clinician.
• Provide consultation services on an as-needed basis to various town of Medway employees, schools, town departments, and organizations regarding individuals and families struggling with mental health and substance abuse.
Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition:
• Provide a Medway Dual Recovery (DRA) program specifically focused on Medway residents by creating an in-person DRA homegroup in Medway. (Held on Thursday nights at the Medway Public Library, 26 High St.)
• Advertise Community Clubhouse Coalition’s services and DRA meetings to Medway residents.
• Offer a newly established friends and family recovery opportunity on Zoom.
SAFE Coalition:
• Provide a prevention and education campaign targeting family substance use and mental wellness. (this includes Narcan training and walk-in counseling sessions at the Medway Library).
• Provide free transportation support for any Medway resident for SAFE Coalition programming.
• Provide a recovery and treatment campaign targeting parents and adults.
Anyone with any questions or would like to be contacted for any of these services, please get in touch with Health Director Derek Kwok at dkwok@townofmedway.org.
