Congratulations to the 2017 honorees who had their names added to the Burke-Memorial School Plaque last night at a well-attended ceremony in the Burke-Memorial Library. Principal Amanda Luizzi opened the ceremony and introduced Superintendent Armand Pires. The Middle School Choir led the crowd in the Star Spangled Banner. Each of the honorees: Amanda Newman, Nancy Lennon-Kramer, and Monsignor Timothy Moran were introduced individually with warm praise for their work in the Schools and the community by those who nominated them for this honor.
Amanda Newman was praised and thanked for her tireless work on the Elementary School Yearbook for the past eight years. Nancy Kramer-Lennon, or “Miss Nancy” was praised and thanked for her work with the LIONS and for her service to the Schools transporting children to school working for more than twelve years. Monsignor Timothy Moran was praised and thanked for his leadership to the many parish ministries including the Food Pantry at Mahan Circle, the Homeless Ministry, Alcoholics Anonymous, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Middle and High School Youth Groups.
The ceremony followed an open house in the newly renovated lobby of Burke-Memorial presided over by School Committee Chair Diane Borgatti.
