Hydrant flushing - Zone 4 & 5

In our continuing efforts to improve and maintain water quality, the hydrant flushing program will be conducted starting October 13. The program is designed to improve Medway's water quality and fire flows.

We will be flushing Zones 4 and 5. Flushing will take place at night, beginning at 9:00 pm and ending each morning at 5:00 am. View the map here.

During and for some time after flushing, the increased visibility of water discoloration is possible. By flushing at night, we hope to limit the possibility of residents experiencing discolored water. Please avoid water usage when flushing occurs in your neighborhood. It is not uncommon to experience low water pressure while flushing in our area.

After flushing:

If the water is clear, then proceed to utilize it.

If the water is discolored, using a non-strained fixture such as a tub or outside spigot, run cold water for a few minutes until clear. If it is still discolored, wait and run again until clear. A slight discoloration may remain for a few hours.

If you have any questions/concerns, anticipate schedules, or need more information, please see the updated notifications on the Town's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and www.medwayma.gov or call the Water and Sewer Division at (508) 533-3275.
